Approximately 100 years ago, I used to run - a lot. Though I think the days of running marathons and half marathons may be behind me (you never know), I've been trying to find the motivation to lace up.
In 2020, someone very dear to me was diagnosed with Parkinson's. In considering ways I could show my support, I realized there was no better inspiration to get back out there. In this spirit, I decided to participate in The Michael J. Fox Foundation's (MJFF) Spring Virtual 5K/10K/Half Marathon (I'll be huffing my way through the 10K).
More than 6 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this. MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
Your gift will make a real difference: 100% of the Spring Virtual 5K/10K/Half Marathon proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.
I hope you can help support my efforts by making a donation today. Thank you!
