Hello friends! As many of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's seven years ago. I could write many paragraphs about the different ways that PD sucks, but instead I'm going to do something slightly more productive... and way out of my comfort zone... and RUN!
This year, my fiancé and I are participating in the Michael J. Fox Foundation's (MJFF) Fox Trot 5K Run/Walk for Parkinson's Research. We are doing this to raise money and to support my parents, who raised over $60k in 2017 when they joined a Team Fox Fundraiser and hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro! I know, my 5k trot doesn't look so impressive now but hey, baby steps!
More than 6 million people worldwide are living with PD — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder-- and there is no known cure. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this and they are dedicated to finding a cure through an aggressively funded research agenda.
Please know that 100% of Fox Trot for Parkinson's Research proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.
Thank you so much for your love and support! - Maddie
