Thank you for visiting my page!
This year, I am participating in the Michael J. Fox Foundation's (MJFF) Virtual 5K/10K.
A few years ago, my wife Karen was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since January 2020, this insidious disease has progressed more rapidly that we could have imagined, robbing my wife of the ability to do many of the things she enjoys and making many mundane, daily tasks & activities difficult to impossible. Karen has worked from home since January, hasn’t driven a car in that time, and this once active, athletic woman has reduced her daily physical activity to a few short walks in our neighborhood. Karen is not yet 50 years old. This evil disease has impacted our family life in many ways. I am running the MJFF Virtual 10K on October 3 in honor of my wife of 27 years in order to raise both money and awareness. I set a goal to raise $1000, but I have over 3300 friends on Facebook & almost 1000 followers between my personal & professional Twitter accounts—we ought to be able to blow $1000 out of the way and raise quite a bit more than that. Rest assured that 100% of all donated funds go directly to Parkinson’s research and treatment development. I started with $100 of my own. I’m asking everyone who sees this to pitch in $1. You are, of course, free to give less or more as you are able. Any amount is appreciated.
More than 6 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this. MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
Your gift will make a real difference: 100 percent of Virtual 5K/10K proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.
Help me move a cure for Parkinson's disease over the finish line by making a donation today.
